Living In Las Vegas Nevada!

Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world. But why are so many people seeking to call Las Vegas Nevada home? There’s so many reasons involved in these questions but we’re going to keep it down to 5 reasons everyone loves living in Las Vegas Nevada.

1. Las Vegas Weather

Let me tell you, one of the biggest reasons I love living Las Vegas Nevada is the weather! Coming from the UK, where summers are mild and winters are cold, I’ve totally embraced the climate here. Yeah, the summers can get super-hot (think 110-115 degrees), but I’ve learned to adapt. Just make sure to drink enough water – I even set a timer to remind myself!

On Christmas day, while my family back home showed me dark, gloomy, and cold weather, I enjoyed a clear blue sky and a bit of a chill in the air. It’s true that sunshine and blue skies can boost your mood, and that’s a huge plus for living here.

Many people move here from colder northern and eastern states, so they also appreciate the warmer weather. Plus, we don’t have to worry about natural disasters like earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, or blizzards. That’s a big relief!

Sure, it can get windy since we’re in a valley, and we do have the occasional rain (which I miss from back home), but overall, you can expect around 300 days of sunshine each year. Not too shabby, right? So, if you can handle the summer heat and a bit of wind, the weather is definitely one of the top reasons to live here!

2. No State Income Tax

Another awesome reason people flock to Vegas is the lack of state income tax! Depending on where you’re moving from, that could mean an extra 10% staying in your pocket instead of going to taxes. The savings really add up, making the cost of living in Vegas more manageable compared to other states.

Sure, prices have risen across the country, but when you compare it to places like California, you’ll find your mortgage payment in Vegas is probably a lot less than what you’d pay for rent there. That really puts things into perspective!

A big part of why we don’t have state income tax here is because the casinos generate tons of money for the state, which benefits us all. So, with no state income tax, you’ll have more money for things like upgrading your house, buying a new car, or going on fun family experiences.

You might not notice the difference at first, but when you file your tax return after your first year, you’ll see just how much better off you are financially living here. Trust me, having more money in your pocket is a total win in my book!

3. Outdoor Activities

Las Vegas has a ton of fun activities under the sun! With an average of 300 sunny days per year and temperatures around 80 degrees, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Sure, the summer heat can be intense, but for most of the year, it’s perfect for exploring the outdoors.

Some of our favorite local trails are in Henderson, but you can also find amazing hikes around Red Rock Canyon. The views from these trails are seriously breathtaking. If hiking isn’t your thing, you can take a scenic drive around Red Rock and stop at various viewpoints for those Insta-worthy shots.

Lake Las Vegas offers loads of water activities, like boat rentals, fishing, water obstacle courses, and even water jetpacks! Our family loves Cowabunga Bay and Cowabunga Canyon, where we always get a season pass for endless fun.

There are countless parks, playgrounds, cycling and walking trails all around town. You’ll find plenty of opportunities for tennis, soccer (or football, as I called it back home), and any other sport you love. With the beautiful weather, there’s no excuse not to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

Plus, Vegas is conveniently located near Hoover Dam and several national parks, making it perfect for anyone who loves outdoor living. So come on, let’s explore the great outdoors in Vegas and its neighboring areas together!

4.Traveling

One of the fantastic benefits of living in the Vegas area is the ease of travel and exploration to other cities and destinations. While it might seem like we’re a bit isolated, there are actually a bunch of nearby cities and attractions that are just waiting to be discovered.

If you’re in the mood for a road trip, you’ve got plenty of options. LA is only about a 4 to 6-hour drive away, perfect for a weekend getaway filled with sunshine and Hollywood glamour. Arizona, with its awe-inspiring Grand Canyon and mesmerizing red rock landscapes, is also within driving distance. And let’s not forget about Salt Lake City, Utah, where you can experience both the city’s vibrant culture and its breathtaking mountain views—all within a 4 to 5-hour drive.

Flying out of Vegas? You’re in luck! With an abundance of flights coming in and out of the airport daily, you’ll have no trouble finding a plane to take you to your dream destination. Affordable flights to tropical paradises like Hawaii and Cabo make it easy to satisfy your wanderlust. Plus, flights to other popular spots like Orlando, home to Disney World, and Miami, known for its gorgeous beaches and vibrant nightlife, are often more budget-friendly than from other parts of the country.

This travel convenience is a bonus not just for you, but also for your family and friends who come to visit. With easy access to the airport, you’ll have no trouble meeting up with your loved ones when they arrive and showing them all the amazing attractions Vegas has to offer.

So, whether you’re hitting the road for a weekend getaway, or jetting off to an exotic vacation, living in the Vegas area opens up a world of travel opportunities. Pack your bags, grab your camera, and get ready to make some unforgettable memories!

5. Endless Entertainment

Get ready for non-stop excitement! Living in Las Vegas means there’s always something to do, no matter the time of day. As a 24/7 city that never sleeps, there’s an endless array of entertainment options both on and off the Strip.

Whether you’re in the mood for a delicious meal at a top-notch restaurant, catching a mesmerizing show on The Strip, or treating yourself to a luxurious staycation at one of the many hotels, Vegas has got you covered. Families have plenty of options too, from parks, splash pads, and water parks to indoor play gyms, ensuring fun for all ages.

Vegas is also known for its vibrant nightlife, with a vast selection of bars, nightclubs, and adult entertainment venues. As the entertainment capital of the world, there’s no shortage of activities to keep you engaged and entertained.

For example, a recent visitor from Canada was considering a move to Vegas because of the abundant entertainment options. In contrast to his hometown, where there wasn’t much to do after work, Vegas offers countless opportunities for socializing, making new friends, and enjoying unique experiences.

So, if you’re worried about getting bored in Vegas, don’t be! It’s nearly impossible to run out of things to do in this bustling, lively city. Whether you’re looking for family fun, an exciting night out, or world-class shows and performances, Las Vegas has it all. Get ready to dive into a world of entertainment that will keep you coming back for more!
